Sense of Humor

God has a sense of humor. He knows that we need to laugh, even in the midst of difficult times. He sends us into the world each day to facilitate that need to laugh. When we can find humor in our circumstances, it helps us to cope with stress and pain. It also reminds us that God is still in control, even when things seem chaotic.

God Allows the Temperature to Increase in Our Lives

Sometimes, God allows the temperature to increase in our lives. This can be through difficult circumstances, such as illness, loss, betrayal or finances. It can also be through times of spiritual growth, when God is asking us to step out of our comfort zone and trust Him more.

When the temperature increases in our lives, it can be tempting to become discouraged. But if we remember that God is in control, and that He is using these circumstances to refine (forge) us, we can find hope and strength to persevere.

When Lead, Iron, or Gold is Forged Impurities Rise to be Easily Removed

Just as impurities rise to the surface when lead is forged, so too do our impurities rise to the surface when we are going through difficult times. This is a good thing, because it allows us to see our weaknesses and areas where we need to grow.

If we are willing to face our impurities, God can use them to refine us and make us more like Him. He can remove the dross from our lives and leave us with pure gold.

Your Current Circumstances May Be a Hot Mess However God is Up to Something

It's easy to get discouraged when our current circumstances are a hot mess. But if we remember that God is always working, even when we can't see it, we can have hope.

God is up to something in your life. He is using your current circumstances to refine you, grow you, and make you more like Him. Trust Him and keep moving forward. Amen.

Scripture -

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4
