The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit intervenes on our behalf when our bodies can no longer carry us any further. The Holy Spirit serves as the eternal fire in our hearts that carries us through the valleys of dark times. We attain greatness because as believers in Christ we possess the infinite source of strength that scientists, evolutionists, and agnostics will never taste, feel, and realize. That infinite support ignites from a supernatural relationship with a best friend we each have in Jesus Christ. Let us pray - Jesus, we believe you are the Son of God, that you died on the cross to rescue us from sin and death and to restore each man here to the Father. We choose now to turn from our sins, our self-centeredness, and every part of our lives that does not please you. We choose you. We give ourselves to you. We receive your forgiveness and ask you to take your rightful place in our lives as our Savior and Lord. Come reign in our hearts, fill us with your love and your life, and help us to become m...

“Good people only; sinners not welcome.”

The Bible teaches that Jesus did not come into the world to condemn anyone; but rather, to save sinners. What a precious truth! Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. I certainly don't condemn anyone, for the Bible condemns all of us as guilty, dirty, rotten, hell-deserving sinners. Mine, your salvation, heck er’body’s salvation solely rests in Christ's righteousness, because of the precious blood that He gave for our sins. I have no goodness of my own to satisfy the demands of a holy God. Sin must be paid for. Since I am a sinful man, I could never meet God's holy demands for justice. This is why God in unconditional love sent His only begotten Son into the world, the sinless Lamb of God, Who was perfectly acceptable to the Father as a sacrifice for the sins of all humanity, every single person, throughout the ages. Even the sinners of sinners! Think about it... Who would have thought that ...

A Prayer for the Workday

Dear God, I thank you for my job. You have provided me with a steady income and I thank you. I pray that you watch over me today at work and that there are no accidents so that everyone can return home. I thank you that my job has provided an income to support me and my family. I thank you for the provisions that you have given to me... My home My vehicle Food on my table I pray for safe travels to and from work and I pray that you will use me as you see fit today for Your Glory. Spirit of the Living God, fall fresh upon me. For I am your servant today, my ear is turned to you, my heart is open. Today I proclaim that you, alone are my God. I will not bend my ear to falsehoods, nor use my tongue for slander. Today I will not yield my lips to substances which will cause me to stumble and lose sight of you. Light my path, dear God and I will march for you. Light my spirit, oh God and I will rejoice forever. As David said (Psalm 51:10-12) “Create in a clean heart, O God; an...

Next

I remember years ago I attended a NEXTEL briefing. This was a young phone company that sold long distance minutes. There was a guy there named Dominic, wearing a nice suit, spoke well, and always smiles kindly. One other descriptive item I noted on Dominic’s apparel was a small button on his lapel. Circular shaped, about 1 inch wide, solid white, with black letters “NEXT.” I introduced myself to him and asked, “What’s the next button about?” To my surprise, he told me it’s a prayer. With his kind smile he witnessed to me and shared his prayer that behind every no, every I’ll think on it, every now is not a good time, there’s is a next opportunity to succeed and help someone else do the same. This is a simple power, belief that God is in charge of your success. You may asked, how to improve your business? How to be successful? Here’s a golden rule to follow, pray the Next Prayer. Trust that God is in charge of your success and will send you abundant blessings. There’s always a Next...

Complaining

When I look back on the direst times in my life, the points of struggle with finances, health, relationships, etc., I see with clarity that my pain was self-induced. When I reflect on these meadows of personal despair, I realize that I wasted a lot of time on negative emotions. One of the most compelling reasons for choosing not to complain is that complaining does nothing to fix the problem. Nothing. Regardless of what I'm facing, preferring to be negative and exaggerating my frustrations doesn’t help the situation. What does? Working the solution, not the problem! Here's my point, if you want to do something productive about your problems then try praying or meditating. Think positively about positive outcomes to the problem situation. The next time you get frustrated with your job – instead of complaining, pray/meditate that God/divine guidance would give you a passion for your occupation or the courage to find a new one. Then, do something to bring that passion into...

How?

Heavenly Father - How? How do I focus on your Son’s example set for us? How with all of these distractions and grace robbers do I live a life dedicated to your glory? At home I hear lack of faith, in my own family, I hear it Lord. On the radio and on the internet I am blasted with evil sounds of soul snatchers distracting me from your love. And TV is devoid of your presence as if You are outlawed in media. When I try to talk to people and share your Son with them, they brush me off or tell me they do not believe in You, all the while complaining that the world is broke and that it’s your fault Lord. My flesh is weak, my heart is untrustworthy, and my mind is fogged with burdens and other thoughts that block my body from your embrace. Outside of your house Lord, I am a wreck. Perhaps I need to use the gifts of your total creation to my benefit. In times of physical struggle, focus not on the struggle but rather on the air that surrounds me. Breathing it in and out and feelin...

Empty

Inspired by a poem read at Crossroads Church In the final days and hours of Christ’s life He was exalted by thousands filling the streets yet just days later... He was betrayed by those same people They hurled insults at Him Despised Him Rejected Him His best friends fell sleep on Him His disciple betrayed him He was mocked Belittled Bruised And beaten He was condemned to the death of a thief Stripped of his clothing Nailed to a cross Stabbed in the side and left to die They laid Him in a borrowed tomb A tomb previously empty Now filled with the body of the Messiah our Savior The opening filled with a huge stone Emptiness filled the world It seemed as if life had no meaning It seemed as if confusion clouded the mind It seemed as if emptiness had final victory But that tomb could not hold Him The fullness of Jesus overcame death Hurt Emptiness Two men appeared to them clothed in light “Why are you looking for the dead among the living?” “He is not here.”...
