Agape Love

I've asked our Lord for an Agape love for wife and family. I ask for agape love because human love has limits. Jesus gave us a new commandment that empowers limitless love - Agape love. He said that we should love one another as he loved us. That’s a lot of love, that’s a love without limits, that’s agape love!

There are six actions that drive agape love; these are leadership actions, and making these behaviors part of our lives makes us Christ-like leaders.

1. Lead by example: John 13:15 - I’ve given you an example to follow. Now, do as I have done to you. 1 Timothy 4:12 - ...set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.

2. Challenge all to live a life of purpose: Matthew 28:19-20 - ...go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.

3. Affirm everyone’s potential: John 14:12 - Anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.

4. Trust people with responsibility: Matthew 16:19 - I am giving you the keys to Heaven. Whatever you lock on earth will be locked in Heaven, and whatever you open on earth will be open in Heaven.

5. Offer positive feedback: Ephesians 4:29 - Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that builds up...

6. Pray for everyone: John 17:20 - I am praying not only for these disciples but for all who will ever believe in me because of their testimony.

Remember Christ-like leaders Lead by example; Challenge all to live a life of purpose; Affirm everyone’s potential; Trust people with responsibility; Offer positive feedback; and Pray for everyone.
Let us pray -

Heavenly Father you teach us that love, communication, and servitude wins all! We pray that you will open our hearts and minds to your truth. We want to live a life of servitude loving our families, fellow persons, and all in need of your Truth. Let your light shine through us every moment of every day. Allow us never to be afraid to share your Word with everyone we encounter. We want to lead by example, be challenged to live a life of purpose, affirm everyone’s potential, trust people with responsibility, offer only positive feedback, and pray for everyone. Lord, we are your men, let us do your will, for it is the Truth that will save this broken world.

The number three is a powerful and often used number in scripture. When one goes looking for “threes” you can most certainly find them in Christianity. Noah had three sons (Gen. 6:10). Three visitors appeared to Abraham (Genesis 18:2). Jonah was inside the belly of the fish three days and nights (Jonah 1:17). Samuel L. Jackson is Jules Winnfield, a mobster in a tight spot. Jules and his partner Vincent Vega (John Travolta), have just pulled into the home of Jimmie (played by Tarantino himself) with a dead body in the car which they have to dispose of pronto. Under pressure from Jimmie to get out of there as fast as possible, Jules calls his mob boss Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) to apprise him of the situation and plead for backup.
